Tilting towards,
tilting at action,
action over complacency,
action over devisor, the reductionist,
but I say, to the honourable crew,
even small reducing effort,
is still producing a result,
a fraction if you will,
still greater than nil,
better than nothing,
so stand up, rise up,
add a smirk of confidence,
add a shine of possibility,
in doing so subtracting,
some hesitancy, some tethers,
silken bonds, ephemeral anchors,
see the stone starts rolling,
here its gentle rumble,
the ship Adventure is underway,
the music ponderous at first,
starts filling the space,
starts filling the heads,
warming tantalising senses,
the murmur of voices,
now affixing humanity,
the scene is animated,
and cue our actor,
through back door,
greeted, guided on gilded path,
to the stage,
take the microphone,
and begin.

Adventure has some sort of reputation of only being allowed out to climb mountains,, to ride like the wind to sail to new worlds, but, I think a simpler definition is warranted;
where one simply steps off your current path, I see all of us on paths – narrow wide flat rugged
but, a path that is leading us – to ends in truth unknown, regardless how we might feel
Adventure, is saying – wait look a break in the trees here, or a gap in the traffic or damn it lets just take a risk, planned unplanned it matters little the effect can be multiplication or division of life’s bounty, joy, pain, end itself.
I am pro taking adventure, not for its own sake, but for mine and for those I love.
